GAMA Announces Leadership For 2012

Three New Members Added To The Association's Roster

The Board of Directors of GAMA has elected Caroline Daniels, chairman and CEO of ATP, as GAMA’s chairman for 2012. Daniels previously served as GAMA’s vice chairman of the board and as chairman of GAMA’s Safety Committee. Brad Mottier, vice president and general manager of Business and General Aviation at GE Aviation, has been selected as GAMA’s vice chairman. Mottier will also continue to serve as chairman of the Technical Policy Committee throughout the coming year.

In addition, the following five board members were elected to GAMA’s Executive Committee and will serve in the following leadership positions:

  • Airworthiness and Maintenance Committee  - Rob Mionis, president and CEO, StandardAero
  • Communications Committee – Larry Flynn, president, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation
  • Flight Operations Policy Committee – Steve Taylor, president, Boeing Business Jets
  • International Affairs Committee – Simon Pryce, CEO, BBA Aviation
  • Safety Affairs and Training Committee – Dan Schwinn, CEO, Avidyne

GAMA’s board of directors also approved three new member companies. Bell Helicopter, a Textron Company, is GAMA’s first rotorcraft manufacturer. Founded in 1935, Bell Helicopter was the first manufacturer to obtain certification for a commercial helicopter. Over its history, the company has delivered more than 35,000 aircraft to customers around the world. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Bell Helicopter has additional plants in Amarillo, Texas and Mirabel, Canada. In addition, they maintain key logistics supply and service centers in Europe, Canada, and Singapore, as well as in the United States.

Jet Support Services (JSSI), an independent provider of hourly cost maintenance programs for aircraft engines and airframes, was also admitted to the association. Founded in 1989, JSSI provides its clients with comprehensive, flexible and affordable financial tools for managing costs associated with operating and maintaining nearly all types of turbine-powered aircraft, including jets, turboprops and helicopters. JSSI serves clients around the world by managing maintenance services through its international network of technical advisors. JSSI is headquarted in Chicago, Illinois with an additional office at Farnborough Airport in the United Kingdom.

Wipaire, which manufactures a full line of aircraft floats for all sizes of aircraft from the Piper Cub to the de Havilland Twin Otter, has also gained membership. The company, headquartered in South St. Paul, MN, also manufactures a water scooping float for aerial firefighting operations and  Wipline AirGlide Skis to accommodate snow and ice landings. Wipaire manages a full service aircraft repair and modification center, including paint, avionics and interiors. The company has been manufacturing aircraft floats for over 50 years at Fleming Field in South Saint Paul and at a production facility on the Mississippi River in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Wipaire is recognized for its quality products and engineering expertise worldwide.
