Police Chat With Swiss Pilot After Incident At LCY

"Do You Want To Search This?"

A Swiss International Airlines pilot took drastic action in response to what he perceived to be onerous airport security measures... by dropping trou at a London City Airport checkpoint.

British tabloid The Sun reports the incident took place Tuesday, when screeners told the pilot he also had to pass through airport security.

"The pilot was asked to take off his shoes and belt like everyone -- but completely lost the plot," an unnamed source told the Sun. "He pulled down his trousers and pants to completely expose himself, then turned to the security guard and asked angrily, 'Do you want to search this?'"

The incident occurred at the terminal's downstairs security checkpoint, away from passengers. Presumably, the screener responded in the negative.

Police were called to the scene (dubbed the "Flash Point" by the Sun) and the pilot was taken away for questioning. Thirty-seven passengers had to wait two hours for the next flight out of LCY.

"All pilots have to go through these procedures so no one can understand why he reacted the way he did. Perhaps he was having a bad day," the source said.

The pilot was later released by police.
