WingX Pro Shares Fix For GPS Core Location Issue

Company Says The Procedure Is 'Simple'

When it was released, Apple's iOS 8.3 broke compatibility with the Dual XGPS150, XGPS160, and Bad Elf GPS receivers (and other external GPS receivers); i.e. apps no longer receive GPS Core Location information, according to information from Hilton Software. This bug in iOS 8.3 does not affect ADS-B receivers with a WiFi or Bluetooth connection, the company said.

In a news release, Hilton says they have found a simple fix, and Dual has confirmed that this fix works for the XGPS150 and XGPS160.

To implement the fix:
-Tap on the iPad's Settings icon
-Tap on Privacy
-Tap on Location Services
-Change the WingX Pro7 setting to Never (see image)

That's it, connect to the XGPS150, XGPS160, or Bad Elf GPS receiver normally and it should work just fine

Users will know the fix is working because they will be receiving good GPS information in WingX Pro7.  In addition, WingX Pro7 will notify you that it is receiving its location information from the external GPS receiver in the bottom-left corner of the moving map.

Hilton Software says you will be receiving good GPS information in WingX Pro7.  In addition, WingX Pro7 will notify you that it is receiving its location information from the external GPS receiver in the bottom-left corner of the moving map.

The company says when Apple releases a fix for iOS 8.3, users should install the new iOS version and ensure that Location Services is On and WingX Pro7 within Location Services is set to Always.
