Albany FBO Joins Million Air Family

That Makes 32 In The Million Air Chain

Million Air executives say the company has taken over management of the leading FBO at Albany International Airport in Albany, N.Y. The Airport's new FBO will operate under the name Million Air Albany.

This addition brings the total number of FBO facilities housed under the Million Air chain to 32.

Million Air Albany features two hangars. The main hangar measures 29,700 square feet and serves as Million Air's main offices. It features a 160-foot by 95-foot hangar area and 14,500 square feet of office space.

Other amenities include a pilot's lounge, showers, pilot prep room, customer lounge and reception area with snack food and coffee. Local and regional limousine companies will service the FBO, and Hertz will have rental vehicles available.

A second hangar features 24,600 square feet of hangar/storage space, along with an additional 9,500 square feet of office space, which is partially occupied by a United States Customs and Border and Protection Office.

"We have begun to develop a comprehensive plan for service enhancements as well as updating current facilities which will include a $1.5 million upgrade of an existing hangar to permit the operation of an aircraft service center," said John O'Donnell, chief executive officer of the Albany County Airport Authority, which owns the FBO.

Once the renovations are complete, Million Air and the Albany County Airport Authority will host an official celebration to reintroduce the FBO to the aviation community.

In addition to operating the FBO, Million Air will manage fuel for its own customers, as well as a number of commercial airlines at Albany International Airport.

"The development and growth of Tech Valley is bringing big businesses to Albany and the entire Capital Region," said Roger Woolsey, chief executive officer of Million Air. "Those businesses, as well as their customers, use private jets to travel. We want to be the gateway to Albany. Working in tandem with the local community, our goal is to welcome these visitors and businesses 'Million-Air' style, with top-notch customer service and world-class amenities."
