CABAA Drives For Charity

Announces Beneficiaries

The Chicago Area Business Aviation Association (CABAA) has selected Shepherd's House as the recipient for the 2005 CABAA Charity Golf Classic, to be held at Prairie Landing Golf Club, West Chicago, IL on August 25th. In addition, CABAA will fund two $2,500 scholarships for aviation students at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.

The charity event, now in its seventh year, is conducted by CABAA to bring together Chicago's business aviation community for a day of fun and camaraderie, but also to support a philanthropic organization that delivers an essential service to those in need in the greater Chicago community. A different charity is selected each year.

This year's recipient, Shepherd's House, located in Manhattan, IL, was chosen among several applicants. It is a residential facility established to provide a safe place for expectant mothers who do not have a place to live and are experiencing a crisis pregnancy.  Shepherd's House provides resources and services that establish a foundation for self-sufficiency that allows the women to care for themselves and their children.  The facility is an 8,000 square foot home that can accommodate 16 residents.

For the first time, a portion of the proceeds from the CABAA Charity Golf Classic will also fund two $2,500 Scholarships for students majoring in Aviation Flight, Maintenance or Administration at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL.

 "It has always been a goal of our organization to create a link to the Chicagoland community by supporting an important and worthy cause. And we hope to do so with an even larger contribution this year," said Rick Milburn, president of CABAA, adding, "What's new this year is our financial support of students pursuing aviation as a career. And we'd like to carry this forward."
