The Commercial Spaceflight Federation congratulates NASA and the winners of the Commercial Crew Transportation Capability, referred to as the “CCtCap,” contract awards announced yesterday.

CCtCap is the latest round in NASA’s Commercial Crew Program that will develop domestic space transportation capabilities for NASA astronauts. We recently reported that 11 U.S. Senators had submitted a letter to the DOT urging action on revised 3rd class medical requirements, and now the Flying Physicians Association, known as the FPA, has added their letter to the same stack. This time it's not a technology breakthrough, but a financial one that may make the Jetpack a little closer to reality. New Zealand-based Martin Aircraft Company Limited ... which is developing what it calls the world’s first practical and commercial flying Jetpack ... closed their pre-IPO fundraising round one week ahead of schedule and with about 1.23 million U-S dollars of oversubscriptions. All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
