Monthly $29.95 Weather Service Includes Weather and Delivery
Service
The hottest new product
at Oshkosh just got a lot hotter. Anywhere Wx weather provider
WxWorx announced a new pricing plan offering XM Satellite Weather
including national NEXRAD, METARs TFRs and TAFs for the low price
of $29.95 per month. This represents a significant drop in the cost
of datalink weather for General Aviation.
Control Vision pioneered datalink weather for portable GPS
systems with its landmark product, Anywhere Wx. Originally based on
the Globalstar satellite network, the Kansas company recently began
offering XM Satellite weather as an option. With unlimited weather
availability and constant on-line updates, the XM Wx solution
presents significant advantages to pilots.
The system consists of
an iPAQ Pocket PC, Anywhere Tracker™ Bluetooth GPS, Anywhere
Wx and a WxWorx XM Satellite receiver. A Windows® version
called Anywhere XP™ delivers Control Vision applications
including XM Weather on laptop and tablet PCs.
Control Vision president Jay Humbard said, “We’re
very excited about this new pricing plan for XM Satellite Weather.
It makes the cost of having high quality weather in G.A. cockpits
very compelling and cost-effective. Anywhere Wx with XM weather
brings a dimension of safety to flying that you really won’t
want to be without.”
Vice President of Engineering, Greg Yotz voiced his enthusiasm.
“No question about it, XM Weather is the hottest thing at
Airventure. The combination powerful, unlimited-use XM weather
combined with the Anywhere Map powerhouse GPS delivers true glass
cockpit functionality at a fraction of what companies like Garmin
and Avidyne will charge when they begin shipping XM weather
systems.”
FMI: www.controlvision.com, Visitors
to Airventure are urged to visit Control Vision’s booth in
Hangar C, booths 3135 and 3136. An outdoor hospitality tent,
118-120, is just outside Hangar C.
