August 8th, 2008 should have been the end of Aerosonic Corporation.
Instead, it was a new beginning... albeit one fraught with despair, pain and (nearly) a loss of hope. Yes, it could have been the end... but, instead, it was an opportunity for a rugged company and the industry it was such a pivotal part of, to show what they, and the rest of the aviation community, was made of. And what was that? Stern stuff... amazing stuff... survivor stuff.
Aerosonic suffered a catastrophic fire... it was an event that destroyed inventory, equipment, records and vital information critical to the daily business of Aerosonic... a well known manufacturer of precision aviation instrumentation systems and equipment. Not a newbie to the aerospace biz, Aerosonic had been supplying precision flight products for commercial, business and military aircraft for over half a century.
Based on the fortitude of the Aerosonic team and the surprising support of not only the clientèle of Aerosonic as well as some of its competitors, Aerosonic put together a survival plan... and not only survived but did so in a way that allowed them to put the tragedy behind them and become a much more powerful, innovative and competitive company... and one that all of aviation can be proud of.
ANN is honored to present this 'Mini-Documentary' about the fight to save Aerosonic -- one of the most compelling Aero-TV stories we've done so far... Now and then, we have the chance to indulge in a "Passion Project" -- the telling of a compelling story using the amazing media we have come to love and master as we have produced nearly seven years and about 1500 programs for Aero-TV. This is one of the more enticing projects that we enjoyed spending extra time and effort on -- because the story, the people, and topic is so darned inspiring.
