Laurent Maroy Will Move Into Operations, International Distribution
Sonaca Aircraft has named Laurent Maroy, 42, as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Laurent Maroy joined Sonaca group in 2013 and has a wide variety of skill sets as he held various positions in national and international levels within the company. In Belgium he worked at Sonaca groups headquarters as Airbus Program Manager before moving to Romania to start up and develop Sonaca Aerospace Transylvania’s business.
In the USA, he worked at a subsidiary of Sonaca group called LMI Aerospace as a Business Unit Leader.
Yves Delatte, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sonaca Aircraft and CEO of Sonaca group said: "Sonaca Aircraft has to face the increasing production and deliveries of the Sonaca 200 in Europe and abroad. Laurent brings both operational and managerial experience that will help Sonaca Aircraft reach a new stage in its development.”
As CEO, Laurent Maroy will assist Sonaca Aircraft's teams on the operational side (production, deliveries) and will also be involved in the commercial activity by setting up an international distribution network.
According to the company, Sonaca Aircraft’s first objective is the development, certification and marketing of a new single-engined two-seater aircraft the Sonaca 200, which has been specially designed and adapted for pilot training and leisure flights.
Maroy studied economy and corporate finance and speaks Dutch, English and French. In addition to his duties at Sonaca he is also the co-founder of a brewery, Brasserie de Namur, since 2013. According to his biography on the website, he is a sports enthusiast that loves the outdoors.
