Vintage Beech May Be Auctioned In Nevada

Has Been Stored At Yerington Airport For More Than A Decade

A vintage twin Beechcraft airplane may be put up for auction if its owner does not come up with more than $2,000 in storage fees owed to the Yerington, NV airport.

The owner is John Mouchou of Reno, according to a report from the Reno Gazette Journal. The 1944-vintage Beech Model 18 has been stored at the airport for more than a decade, but no storage fees have been paid for more than two years, according to Yerington legal counsel Chuck Zumpft.

If the storage fees are not paid by the 28th of February, Zumpft said that it will be advertised and sold at auction on April 1. He said that his research shows that it could bring as much as $100,000 in its current condition.

Yerington public works director Jay Fakus told the paper that the plane has been disappearing one part at a time over the years.

In 2002, the city filed a lien against a house Mouchou owned in Yerington. The structure was eventually razed, according to the report.
