Airplane Repo Web Series May Never Get Off The Ground

Two Of The Principles Of Cancelled Show Turn To Kickstarter

For three seasons on The Discovery Channel, Ken Cage and Danny Thompson were among the repo men who reclaimed airplanes and yachts from people who had defaulted on their loans -- and made aviation look pretty poorer, in the process. The show frankly seemed to have a lot of problems, with some scenes "recreated" in order to tell the story. The show showed numerous instances of unsafe actions, along with some pretty unbelieveable story scenarios.

With the show cancelled (no loss, according to many), Cage and Thompson have turned to Kickstarter in an effort to fund a web series based on the same premise called "Renegade Repos." Desperate, much?

"We are raising funds to be able to create more episodes of the TV show you saw and loved," according to the Kickstarter site. "Ken Cage & Danny Thompson are joining forces to scour the earth chasing the multi-million dollar assets to take them back from the deadbeat owners. It is a high-risk, high-reward game that only a few can succeed in. We will be working with an experienced and talented crew led by Jorge Abarca, director of Season 2 of the show.  This will be a television quality show that will be seen as a web based series."

But, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest. So far, only six people have backed the project for $450. They are trying to raise $65,000, and have less than a month to go. Yeah... no great disappointment there.
