FAA Grants STC To Flightstar For Learjet 40, 45 ADS-B Out

Offers Two Distinct Options For Compliance On The Aircraft

The FAA has issued an STC to Flightstar Corporation for the installation of their ADS-B Out solution in the Bombardier Learjet 40 and Learjet 45 series aircraft.

With the United States ADS-B Out mandate set for January 1, 2020, this Flightstar STC provides an alternate solution for GPS position source compliancy in the Bombardier Learjet 40 and Learjet 45 series of aircraft. STC ST04064CH has the flexibility of offering two distinctly different options for GPS position source. Option one, a Honeywell KGS-200 stand-alone position source, which does not require any changes to existing FMS systems. Option two is either a singular UNS-1Ew with LPV Monitor, or a Dual UNS-1Ew installation. Existing Honeywell equipment is additionally upgraded to meet ADS-B compliance.

“We are proud to offer multiple solutions in this platform that will hit different price points for our customers’ budgetary needs,” said  Flightstar’s Avionics Manager Greg Vail.

The project, including test flight, was completed in its entirety at the Flightstar Corporation’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at KCMI.
