Thailand Has A Cacklin' Good Deal For Russia

See, We'll Give You Chickens And You Give Us Fighters

Thailand has a problem -- two problems, actually. First, officials there are sitting on 60,000 tons of frozen chicken that it can't sell to Russia because of an import ban related to fears over bird flu. Thailand also needs fighter aircraft.

Russia, on the other hand, has plenty of fighter aircraft but needs more chicken. Right now, Moscow imports about 1.1 million tons of poultry a year.

And so a deal is being born -- er, hatched.

The Thai government is offering a trade: 250,000 tons of white and dark meat for fighter aircraft manufactured by the Sukhoi Holding Corporation.

Bangkok is sending a trade representative to Moscow next week in hopes of reaching a deal, according to the Moscow Times.
