Elvis' Private Jet Back On The Auction Block

Most Recently Sold Last Year For $430,000

A 1962 Lockheed Jetstar once owned by The King of Rock & Roll is back on the auction block about a year after being sold for $430,000.

The online auction house IronPlanet lists the jet as a "Custom private jet personally owned by Elvis Presley, the late American singer, complete with red velvet seats, gold plated accents, and red plush carpet.

"Elvis’ Jet has been privately owned for more than 35 years, becoming a tourist attraction where it sat on a runway in Roswell, New Mexico in the US. The jet is the only one of the three planes belonging to Elvis Presley, which is still privately owned, while the other two are owned by the Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee.

"All FAA documents & invoices showing previous ownership by Elvis Presley are included. Seller Comments: Year of manufacture is 1962. Missing items: Engines & cockpit components."

No minimum bid for the Jetstar is listed by IronPlanet. Bids will be accepted until July 27.

IronPlanet says that the current owner has not made any changes to "this piece of history."

The plane is being offered "as-is, where-is" with no guarantees of any kind. IronPlanet says the buyer "May not dispute the condition of the item."

Caveat emptor.
