NBAA 2007: XOJET Spends Some Green In Atlanta

Cessna, Bombardier Win Big Deals... One Bigger Than The Other

When is a $600 million order for 30 business jets NOT the biggest news item of the day? When that impressive order is superceded by a $1.9 BILLION -- yes, with a "B" -- deal for 80 planes... from the same company.

On Monday, private aviation company XOJET announced at NBAA 2007 it placed an order for 30 Cessna Citation X business jets, valued at over $600 million.

“The growth of private aviation is fueled by a new type of traveler—executives who fly privately more than 100 hours a year,” said Paul Touw, president and CEO of XOJET. “XOJET’s new model was built to give these customers a better way to fly private, and market response to our solutions has been exceptional. Our commitment to the super-midsize jet category and the Citation X has helped fuel our rapid growth, and we look forward to introducing 30 new Citation X jets into our fleet.”

XOJET will begin taking delivery of the order in Q1 2008. Deliveries are scheduled to continue through Q4 2010. The order builds on XOJET's existing Citation X fleet, and will bring it to 47 jets.

If that number sounds impressive -- and it is -- just wait. On Tuesday, XOJET announced an order for 20 Bombardier Challenger 300 jets with options for an additional 60 aircraft.

The order -- the largest in Bombardier's history for super-midsize jets -- is valued at approximately $1.9 billion at list prices, assuming all options are exercised.

“Our breakthrough model for private aviation has gained the respect and loyalty of the world’s most frequent business fliers,” said Paul Touw, president and CEO of XOJET. “Focusing our fleet on super-midsize jets allows us to deliver the service levels and cost advantages our customers expect. The Challenger 300 gives our customers additional choice, and its large cabin and unmatched comfort perfectly complement our existing fleet.”

XOJET says it now offers its customers the choice of the most spacious cabin in the super-midsize class. Challenger 300 aircraft deliveries will begin in 2008.
