Wipaire Unveils Wipline 1450 Floats For Small Aircraft

Company Now Offers Floats For Aircraft Of Nearly Every Size

Wipaire unveiled its brand-new wipline 1450 float at EAA Airventure Oshkosh. This all new float is designed for use on LSA and other small aircraft. It will eventually be certified under TSO for installation on CAR 3 and Part 23 aircraft. Now the Wipaire’s float model line encompasses a broad spectrum of aircraft ranging from light-sport aircraft and Super Cubs all the way through the Air Tractor AT-802F and the Viking Twin Otter. The Wipline 1450 Float has an introductory float & rigging price of $30,000 for Amphibious and $23,000 for Seaplane. Installation fees TBD.

The Wipline 8750 float is certified for the Cessna 208 Caravan, and will soon be certified for the 208B Grand Caravan. The new Wipline 8750 incorporates an improved main gear retraction mechanism for low maintenance, an improved oleo design, and visible mechanical gear position indicators. The hull design has been modified to improve handling characteristics in rough water and more buoyancy has been added to the aft of the float for operations at high weights.

The Wipaire company has over 50 years of float design and manufacturing, and over 60 years of total aviation experience. After 25 years in production and nearly 200 sets in use around the world, the Wipline 8000 float is being shelved. Their engineering team drew upon their successes with the 7000 and 8000 floats to reinvent this new float for the Cessna Caravan.

Wipaire is not a single activity aviation business. They provide floats, skis, avionics, interiors, paint refinishing, maintenance, and aircraft sales and brokerage.
