FlightSafety Expands GA Gulfstream Maintenance Training Facility

Savannah Location Trained Over 2,000 Technicians In 2006

FlightSafety International announced last week it will double the size of its Gulfstream aircraft maintenance training facility in Savannah, GA.

Governor Sonny Perdue of Georgia attended Friday's ground breaking ceremony for the 20,000 square expansion of the facility. Officials from FlightSafety and Gulfstream also welcomed local government, business and media representatives, as well as employees from the two companies to the event.

"This extension of our Gulfstream maintenance training facility in Savannah will enhance the services we provide the technicians who maintain and support the growing fleet of Gulfstream aircraft," said Bruce Whitman, President & CEO, FlightSafety International. "In addition to receiving comprehensive training designed to enhance safety, Gulfstream and our mutual customers will benefit from well-equipped classrooms, innovative, advanced technology training devices and hands-on practical learning areas."

"We appreciate the high-quality professional training FlightSafety has provided our valued customers for over thirty years. FlightSafety's investment in this facility will further enhance the industry leading product support owners and operators of Gulfstream aircraft enjoy," said Larry Flynn, President, Product Support, Gulfstream Aerospace.

FlightSafety and Gulfstream Aerospace have worked closely to develop the TTT Total Technical Training program. It offers a wide variety of maintenance training courses taught by instructors from both companies. Over 2,000 technicians underwent maintenance training in Savannah during 2006. The facility expansion scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of 2008 will have the capacity to train upwards of 5,000 technicians per year.

The Savannah Learning Center features 10 FlightSafety built simulators, including those for the Gulfstream GIV, Gulfstream GV, Gulfstream G450, and Gulfstream G550 aircraft.

FlightSafety has been the official factory authorized training organization for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation for more than three decades. Training for Gulfstream aircraft is also available in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Long Beach, CA; the Greater Philadelphia/Wilmington, DE area and at the London Farnborough Airport in the United Kingdom.

Over 75,000 pilots, technicians and other aviation professionals train at FlightSafety facilities each year.
