Southeast LSA Tour A Success In Greenville, SC

12 Light Sport Aircraft Landed At KGMU

The public turned out in good numbers for free airplane rides and a look at what LSA flying has to offer during an event at Greenville Downtown Airport (KGMU) last week, according to Mint Air general manager Alex Park. The LSA Tour landed in Greenville on Thursday, April 7th, and aircraft were on display, demonstration rides were available and a free educational presentation was given to explain what is Light Sport Aviation (LSA), who qualifies to become a Sport Pilot and provided specific information about the LSA's on Tour.

"(The)Sport Pilot Licenses and Light Sport Aircraft are very new to Greenville, so many people came out to learn about them," Park said. "The LSA tour was designed to help introduce people to the sport pilot revolution. It's easy, affordable, safe and fun; and obtaining a sport pilot license can cut the cost and training in half for basic recreational flying," Park added.

Company representatives from Flight Design, CubCrafters, SportAir USA, Legend Cub, Remos, Jabiru and Rans Aircraft were all present for the LSA tour. "Light sport aircraft took to the air to visit four cities in the Southeast", stated Joe Frasher, Airport Director of Greenville Downtown Airport. "We were thrilled that the Greenville Downtown Airport was chosen as a destination."

The LSA Southeast Tour also visited Savannah, Williamston, and Atlanta, GA.
