ANN's New SportPlane Resource Guide To Include EAA Tech Assistance/Expertise

The Aero-News Network’s soon-to-be published 12th anniversary SportPlane Resource Guide will feature the technical expertise and experience of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), the acknowledged leader of the new sport pilot revolution.

The SportPlane Resource Guide, to be published in 2007, will offer in-depth information regarding the sport pilot certification and the light-sport aircraft available to enjoy recreational flight. It will assist aviation enthusiasts interested in this facet of flight to make well-informed decisions on the right training, aircraft and resources for their individual needs.

As the new SportPlane Resource Guide is developed, EAA will provide guidance on sport pilot/light-sport aircraft matters; provide information on local and national EAA programs, such as EAA Chapters, Technical Counselors, Flight Advisors and its other programs; and assist with outreach to the sport pilot/light-sport aircraft community.

“Just as EAA was a tremendous influence on me as a new pilot coming into the aviation world a few decades ago, their mission continues on behalf of a new generation of flyers. Today, EAA is at the forefront of implementing the sport pilot rule, so its input is invaluable to any effort to inform and educate those participating in the exciting, new sport pilot community,” said Jim Campbell, Aero-News Network CEO and Editor-In-Chief.

The resource guide, which will feature a directory and informative how-to sections, will provide impartial specifications and analysis of an aircraft’s capabilities. It will also provide specific direction to those interested in flying light-sport aircraft as a sport pilot.

“As the sport pilot community grows and develops, the key to its success is getting the right information in as many outlets as possible,” said EAA president Tom Poberezny.

“EAA is opening the doors to those who want to fly as sport pilots and is ready to serve those ready to seize the opportunity. EAA wants to ensure that sport pilots have everything they need to make the right decisions for them.”

EAA will also make the new SportPlane Resource Guide available through its various merchandising outlets, and help sport pilots discover ways to enjoy aviation on a local level through participation in EAA activities and programs in their own areas. EAA, The Leader in Recreational Aviation, is an international association with 170,000 members and 1,000 local Chapters. To join EAA or for more information on EAA and its programs, call 1-800-JOIN-EAA (1-800-564-6322) or go to www.eaa.org.
