Women In Corporate Aviation To Present 15 Scholarships At Annual Luncheon

10 Business Aviation Sponsors Donated More Than $78,000 In Scholarships

Fifteen deserving members of Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA) have been awarded scholarships valued at $78,544, and WCA, the premier non-profit mentoring association for business aviation professionals, will,present them to the recipients at the association’s annual networking luncheon, to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 2 during the 70th annual NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in Orlando, FL. The generous awards are designed for the recipients to use for leadership development, training and certification purposes, to further their careers in business aviation. 

Just prior to the scholarship ceremony, WCA luncheon attendees will hear from keynote speaker Denise Wilson, CAM, President and CEO of Desert Jet. As WCA President, Isha Jordan, noted: “Denise is an amazing business aviation leader, and she plans to share her experience of founding Desert Jet nine years ago. She will also talk about the benefits of creating one’s own path, and how to keep our ears open for creative opportunities.”
 
WCA congratulates the following scholarships winners:

  • Karyn Wojcik was awarded an Air Training International Flight Procedures Training Scholarship valued at $1,700.
  • Diar "Didi" Aranki earned an AirFlite Maintenance Training Scholarship valued at $3,000.
  • Genevieve Zasada received an AirFlite Pilot Training Scholarship valued at $3,000.
  • Sarah Cooke won a CAE SimuFlite Citation 500 Series Aircraft Type Rating Scholarship valued at $22,000.
  • Tamara Collum and Wendylie Alix each received an Executive Jet Management Training Scholarship valued at $2,000 a piece.
  • Elizabeth Stenning won a FlightSafety International Type Rating Scholarship valued at $21,400.
  • Antoinette M. Amaral and Holly Tagima were each awarded a MedAire Management of Inflight Illness Training Scholarship valued at $1,122 a piece.
  • Linda McGurin earned a Susan C. Friedenberg’s Corporate Flight Attendant Training scholarship valued at $4,200.
  • Mikael Enz received a Signature Flight Support Corporation Scholarship valued at $3,000.
  • Anusha Gregory, Karla Todd and Michelle Powell each won a Universal Weather and Aviation Hybrid Aircraft Dispatcher Course valued at $3,000 a piece.
  • Lucy Evans won a Women in Corporate Aviation Leadership Scholarship valued at $3,000.
  • Sarah Gursky earned a Women in Corporate Aviation Career Scholarship valued at $2,000.

WCA offers networking, mentoring and scholarship opportunities through many venues each year. The association welcomes students, individuals and businesses that wish to join in its efforts to develop business aviation professionals and support one another, both in the present and future.
