Australian Company Expects Delivery Of The Sim Later This Year
TRU Simulation + Training will provide an Airbus A320 FFS X full flight simulator (FFS) to Ansett Aviation Training, one of the largest aviation training center operators in the southern hemisphere. Delivery of the FFS to Ansett's Tullamarine training facility in Melbourne, Australia is expected during the fourth quarter of 2014.
The A320 FFS X will join Ansett's existing fleet of 11 full flight simulators and will be used to train pilots from Tigerair Australia and other potential customers. The simulator features an electric-pneumatic motion system with a 200° x 40° field of view (FoV) display on Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) projectors.
"Ansett Aviation Training is a well-known and trusted pilot-training brand in the Asia-Pacific region," explained George Karam TRU Simulation + Training vice president and general manager, Air Transport Simulation. "We are very pleased to have been selected to contribute our FFS and related support services to advance Ansett's growth and continuous improvement plans."
"We selected TRU Simulation + Training's A320 FFS X because of its unique value proposition; enabling us to significantly reduce the direct operating costs associated with use of full flight simulators," said Ansett Aviation Training CEO David Garside. "We are also impressed by the capabilities of the FFS X system, and we look forward to seeing how TRU's products and services support our customers' training needs."
TRU Simulation + Training is a subsidiary of Textron.
