FAA Proposes Class E Airspace Around Clinton, Arkansas

NPRM Posted In The Federal Register Open For Comments

The FAA has posted an NPRM in the Federal Register proposing the establishment of Class E airspace at Clinton, AR. The FAA says that controlled airspace is necessary to accommodate new Standard Instrument Approach Procedures developed at Clinton Municipal Airport, for the safety and management of Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations at the airport.

The proposal would establish Class E airspace extending upward from 700 feet above the surface within a 6.0-mile radius of Clinton Municipal Airport, Clinton, AR, to accommodate new standard instrument approach procedures. Controlled airspace is needed for the safety and management of IFR operations at the airport.

The FAA considers the proposal to not be a “significant regulatory action”, or a “significant rule” under DOT Regulatory Policies and Procedures and therefore does not warrant preparation of a regulatory evaluation as the anticipated impact is so minimal. Since this is a routine matter that will only affect air traffic procedures and air navigation, it is certified that this rule, when promulgated, would not have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities under the criteria of the Regulatory Flexibility Act.

The proposed rule is open for comments through January 14, 2016.
