Aero-News Proudly Introduces Our AirVenture 2006 Staff

Say Hello To The Dorceys!

With the final days before the official start to EAA AirVenture 2006 counting down all too rapidly... and, not quickly enough... ANN's senior staff is all-too-aware of the Herculean task ahead of us in reporting EVERYTHING that's news at The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration.

Fortunately, this year we'll have some help... and some really GREAT help at that. As we've already told you, Aero-News is bringing its largest staff EVER to AirVenture this year... and over the next several days, we thought we'd take the time to introduce you to the staff members -- both full-time, as well as our "stringers" -- who will be bringing our readers and listeners all the news that's fit to pixilate from Oshkosh this year.

And now, without further adieu...

Rose Dorcey

Rose is an instrument rated pilot who has been flying for 15 years. She is an author who has written extensively on aviation topics in several aviation publications. She recently edited a book entitled, Blue Sky Moments, A Collection of Wisconsin Aviation Memories. Rose is the 2006 recipient of the Wisconsin Airport Management Association's Blue Light Award, for excellence in reporting Wisconsin aviation news. Rose serves as president of the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame and as editor of the organization’s 20-page newsletter, Forward in Aviation. Her interest in aviation began when she was a young girl watching crop dusters fly over the cranberry bogs near where she grew up in Central Wisconsin.

John Dorcey

John, an Air Force Veteran, is an Aviation Consultant with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Bureau of Aeronautics. He has been an airline transport rated pilot and flight instructor for over 30 years; he is also a certificated aircraft mechanic and airworthiness inspector. John has a cavernous interest in aviation history and is a board member of the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame. He has given hundreds of presentations on aviation safety and aviation history. His interest in flying began when he took a "Penny-a-Pound" airplane ride as a young boy.

Rose and John were married at Fergus Chapel, right on the EAA grounds at Wittman Field. They've been a part of ANN's coverage of Oshkosh for several years.

Stay tuned as we introduce more of our stringers and staffers in days to come!
