Three Years Later: Remembering The French Connection

Three years.

That's far too long to live in a world devoid of the likes of Daniel Heligoin and Montaine Mallet. Two of the most accomplished airshow pilots in the world left us three years ago and shook a world that does not shake easily.

Full of life, colorful beyond words, and tremendously gifted; they were a source of great joy and wonder to millions of people the world over who had seen them for a little while in the skies of skill and daring that they created every time they took flight.

They were amazing... and they were my friends.

I miss them. Tremendously...

And I thought they should be remembered... always. But, especially today. I hope the skies in heaven are as bright and blue and as clear as the very best they knew when they flew among us.

God bless them and all those who love them (still)... --Jim Campbell, ANN Editor-In-Chief
