Airbus Helicopters successfully completed their first flight test of the high-compression engine demonstrator aircraft earlier this month.
The development and flight test of this new technology demonstrator is part of the European Clean Sky initiative’s Green Rotorcraft Integrated Technology Demonstrator program. These test are supported by, the consortium of TEOS Powertrain Engineering and Austro Engine. The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority has certified Cessna's TTx, paving the way for deliveries in Australia. Doug May, Cessna’s vice president of piston aircraft said, “With Australia’s active general aviation population, we see great potential for the high performance TTx.” He added that the TTx is a natural fit for a country as large and economically dynamic as Australia. The Marion County Airport Board in Jasper, Tennessee has asked the FAA for a formal safety review of the skydiving operation in place on the airport.
