STC Granted To Retrofit Pro Line 4 Equipped Aircraft
Rockwell Collins has been granted another STC for its Pro Line 4
to Pro Line 21 retrofit program, making the update available to
Falcon 2000 and Falcon 2000EX aircraft flying Pro Line 4. The
upgrade, announced this week at EBACE, replaces the legacy Cathode
Ray Tube (CRT) displays in the Falcon 2000 and 2000EX with the
latest in liquid crystal display (LCD) technology. Operators
benefit from the latest avionics capabilities while extending the
life and enhancing the value of their aircraft.
Pro Line 21 Typical Installation
There are 250 Falcon 2000 and 2000EX aircraft eligible to take
advantage of the Pro Line 4 to Pro Line 21 retrofit program. The
solution features four large, configurable 10- by 8-inch LCDs and
includes Rockwell Collins’ Integrated Flight Information
System (IFIS). With IFIS, pilots can access high resolution
electronic charts, XM graphical weather (including but not limited
to NEXRAD, lightning data, satellite images and winds aloft) and
enhanced navigation maps. The system’s open architecture
design provides the added benefit of accommodating future
technology changes including ADS-B out and data link mandates.
The Pro Line 21 retrofit program also includes an upgrade to the
aircraft’s existing Rockwell Collins Flight Management System
(FMS), enabling Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) GPS Localizer
Performance with Vertical guidance (LPV) approaches at more than
2,400 airports worldwide. Rockwell Collins also received a separate
STC for operators to upgrade from its AHC-85E Attitude Heading
Computer to a WAAS LPV-capable AHC-3000S.
STCs are available for more than 30 aircraft ranging from turbo
props to long-range business jets, including the Falcon 50EX and,
more recently, a Sikorsky S-61 helicopter. To date, Pro Line 21
aftermarket upgrades have been installed on over 250 aircraft,
making it one of the most successful avionics retrofit programs
available. The STCs are available through Rockwell Collins’
network of certified dealers.
