Includes WXR-2100 Hazard Detection Radar
China Cargo Airlines has selected
Rockwell Collins to provide a comprehensive package of
communication, navigation and surveillance avionics for 10 Boeing
777-200 Freighters. Deliveries of these aircraft are scheduled to
begin in December 2009 and continue through 2013.
"Our close relationship with all levels of leadership at China
Cargo Airlines and our superior customer support capabilities have
provided the foundation for this win," said Jeff Standerski, vice
president and general manager of Air Transport for Rockwell
Collins. "The avionics package selected includes our MultiScan
weather radar, which continues to be a differentiator when it comes
to enabling safer, smoother and more efficient flights."
Rockwell Collins' award-winning WXR-2100 MultiScan Hazard
Detection is the first and only radar that analyzes and determines
actual weather hazards, not simply atmospheric moisture content.
The MultiScan system is a fully automatic, hands-free airborne
radar system with more than five years of operational experience
that reduces pilot workload and enhances safety and passenger
comfort by minimizing unexpected turbulence encounters, and
provides optimal clutter-free weather.
Among the products selected is the Rockwell Collins GLU-925
Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR). The GLU-925 is the first MMR certified
for precision landing using either Global Navigation Satellite
Systems (GNSS) or Instrument Landing Systems (ILS). The GLU-925 is
the primary navigation sensor for all phases of flight, including
the stringent Required Navigation Performance (RNP) requirement of
0.1 n.m.
Other equipment chosen by China Cargo Airlines includes Rockwell
Collins' ADF-900 Automatic Direction Finder, DME-900 Distance
Measuring Equipment, HFS-900D High Frequency Data Radio, VHF-2100
multi-mode, Very High Frequency (VHF), LRA-900 Low-range Radio
Altimeter, and VOR-900 VHF Omnidirectional Range receiver.
