Inaugural Skydive Expo Planned in DeLand, Florida

Tradeshow, Seminars, And Jumps Planned

Skydiving gear manufacturers from around the world are organizing the first ever Skydive Expo, to be held March 11-14, 2010 at DeLand Municipal Airport (KDED) northeast of Orlando, FL. Skydive Expo is a 4-day multi-part event focusing on educational seminars, a skydiving equipment showcase, and gear tests during jumps.

The focus of the event will be the Gear Expo, a tradeshow featuring equipment manufacturers at booths to answer questions and show their wares.  Daily seminars are planned on a range of topics intended to help skydivers learn more about their gear.

The event will be running concurrently with US Parachuting Association's Safety Day.  The annual event is used to promote safety programs, inform jumpers of new developments, and refresh them on procedures before the busy summer season.

In addition to seminars, load organizers will on-hand be at Skydive DeLand, putting together small, low-key, pick-up-style jumps throughout the event.

Non-skydivers are invited and welcome to attend.  Organizers say anyone interested in aviation will find lots to see and learn about in addition to a convention full of people with similar interests. Many skydivers are also private pilots, commercial pilots and participate in other aerial sports, such as BASE jumping, paragliding, hang gliding and more.
