Enterprise Drones Provide Weigh-Conscious or High-Endurance/High-Altitude UAS options
Autel Robotics has announced the availability of its Dragonfish Lite and Pro UAVs in the United States for the first time.
The new products join the vanilla Autel Dragonfish to provide a wider range of pricing and mission profiles for users requiring just a little more performance, more range, or lighter weight. The Dragonfish is a durable, multirotor drone capable of VTOL flight with more economic fixed-wing capability. That hybrid of both worlds allows for use across a range of professional applications, from energy, mining, defense, and surveillance. The maximum flight speed comes in at 67 mph, with a transmission range about 18 1/2 miles.
The Dragonfish Pro takes that basic recipe and increases its endurance, taking its flight time up to 180 minutes while carrying a full payload all the way up to a 19.685 ft ceiling. That allows it to be the scalpel of choice for those wanting a quiet, high-altitude ISR platform on the cheap, whether using it for discreet surveillance or wide-area mapping and survey. Its maximum payload comes in at 5.5 lbs, which should be enough to host a good portion of the lighter, smaller observation equipment designed for UAS use.
The Dragonfish Lite comes in at just under 10 pounds, including its 2 batteries, with a 5'2" wingspan, 2.2-lb payload, and a ceiling of 13,000 feet. The Lite has to make some compromises to reach those metrics, only boasting 75 minutes of flight endurance.
Autel dealers can provide the Dragonfish series in its entirety in the US beginning in April 2022, alongside a range of compatible camera payloads. The Autel team will be attending the Texas Public Safety Summit in Burnett, Texas through the 30th, performing live demonstrations of the recently introduced additions to the Dragonfish lineup.
