ANN Proudly Introduces Our AirVenture 2007 Staff

Say Hello To Peter Riley!

With the final days before the official start to EAA AirVenture 2007 counting down all too rapidly... and, not quickly enough... ANN's senior staff is all-too-aware of the Herculean task ahead of us in reporting EVERYTHING that's news at The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration.

Fortunately, this year we'll have some help... and some really GREAT help at that. As we've already told you, Aero-News is bringing its largest staff EVER to AirVenture this year, to not only increase our print and audio coverage of the greatest (air) show on Earth, but also to help us kick off Aero-TV. (Come to think of it... "Herculean" doesn't begin to cover it...)

Over the next several days, we thought we'd take the time to introduce you to the print stringers, video crews, and senior staffers who will be bringing our readers and listeners all the news that's fit to pixilate, modulate and videotape from Oshkosh this year.

And now, without further ado...

Peter Riley

A humble Iowa boy by birth with the modest aspiration of becoming a local news photographer, Peter Riley now finds himself being rocketed into the next generation of journalism reporting: on-demand video. After two years studying in the world renowned visual journalism program at Brooks Institute of Photography in sunny Ventura, CA, Riley has stepped onboard with the Aero-News Network as one of four new video journalists charged with the daunting task of helping building the new AeroTV.

"I love story telling.  I always have," explained Riley. "But I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I'd be doing it with a video camera... let alone covering an industry as exciting and advanced as aviation."

Riley is no stranger to helping build a department. During his sophomore year at Des Moines Area Community College he joined the staff of the DMACC Chronicle. Riley and the new staff took the paper from a bi-weekly, black and white tabloid in the depths of a ten year slump to an award winning, weekly, color publication in just 18 weeks time.

While Riley is new to aviation, his ambition for learning makes up for his limited background. He's received his King ground school materials and has begun the rewarding process of earning his wings.

Stay tuned as we introduce our final Oshkosh staffer tomorrow! Any guesses who that is?
