EAA Announces An Encore Performance For Fly-In Theater Sponsors

Ford, Eclipse Will Again Sponsor Theater At AirVenture 2007

Again this year, the show at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2007 won't be over when the sun sets each evening, as Ford Motor Company and Eclipse Aviation bring back top aviation movies at the popular "Fly-In Theater" on the AirVenture grounds for the 55th annual EAA fly-in convention.

The outdoor theater, located adjacent to EAA's Camp Scholler camping area, will be open each evening (weather permitting) from Sunday, July 22 through Saturday, July 28. The walk-in theater is reminiscent of the famous drive-in theaters of the past, complete with popcorn! There is no admission charge for the theater, which is open to all AirVenture guests.

Each evening's show begins at approximately 8:30 pm, with an introduction by a celebrity presenter, followed by a classic aviation film at about 9 pm. The film is shown on a projection screen measuring five stories high.

"Last year, thousands of aviation enthusiasts joined us each night at the Fly-In Theater for legendary aviation-themed films at The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration," said Tom Poberezny, EAA president and AirVenture chairman. "We're very pleased Ford Motor Company and Eclipse Aviation are bringing this popular feature back to Oshkosh in 2007. Join us during the week for these popular movies and have the entire family enjoy a superb way to top off a full day at Oshkosh!"

The Fly-In Theater will be in the same location as in 2006 -- on the north side of Camp Scholler, at the end of Doolittle Drive, right behind the Camp Store. The exact schedule of movies and presenters will be announced as it is finalized prior to EAA AirVenture 2007.

"The success of the Fly-In Theater at EAA AirVenture 2006 exceeded our expectations. We were thrilled that AirVenture attendees embraced this new idea in 2006, and we're excited to be bringing it back next summer," said Jill Fannon, Ford Motor Company's manager of events. "Ford is very happy to be a part of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and be able to co-host this evening event."

Eclipse Aviation CEO Vern Raburn, who was among those who participated in the film introductions in 2006, was also thrilled with the response to the debut of the Fly-In Theater.

"A whole new generation of AirVenture visitors can now enjoy sharing those special memories of watching movies outside against a blackened summer sky," said Vern Raburn, president and CEO of Eclipse Aviation. "Eclipse is proud to join Ford Motor Company as hosts of the Fly-In Theater at EAA AirVenture. After the successful debut of the attraction in 2006, we're looking to make it better in 2007!"

EAA AirVenture 2007 is July 23-29 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI.
