The incident happened in the Aston area of Birmingham. Six men and two teenagers are on trial, answering to charges in Birmingham Crown Court of riot and reckless arson. They have denied all of the charges

According to a BBC report, 20-year-old Tyrone Laidey fired the shots at the police helo. The CCTV footage shows a man dropping to one knee and taking aim at the aircraft during the riot.
