MU-2 Installation Of Innovative New IFD550 FMS/GPS/NAV/COM With Integrated ARS, Synthetic Vision And Wx Radar
Avidyne Corporation has announced that installation and delivery of the first IFD550 FMS/GPS/NAV/COM with Attitude Reference Sensor (ARS) has been completed by Murfreesboro Aviation in TN (BoroAv.com), in a Mitsubishi MU-2.
“This particular MU-2 owner wanted to upgrade to the latest in touch-screen WAAS GPS capability and ADS-B, so we recommended the newly-certified IFD550,” said Jim Gardner, Owner of Murfreesboro Aviation. “The IFD550 has a nice big touch-screen display with gorgeous Synthetic Vision views of nearby terrain, obstacles, and traffic. It’s a great piece of gear.”
“I chose the IFD550 because I just loved its powerful FMS capability. And with it having touch screen and dedicated buttons, I found it to be much easier to use than the touch-only boxes on the market. Because it has integrated Wireless plus 3D Synthetic Vision and attitude display capability, I found it to be a very easy decision,” said MU-2 owner Sean Reininger. “The guys at Murfreesboro Aviation really understood what I wanted and recommending the IFD550 was the perfect fit! I can’t wait to get out there and fly with it.”
“Our new flagship IFD550 provides a unique combination of performance and safety features that make it a perfect fit in high-flying, high-performance aircraft like the MU-2,” said Mitch Biggs, Avidyne’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “It’s really a terrific product and there’s simply nothing else like it.”
This first IFD550 installation also included an Avidyne EX600 multifunction display (MFD), an AXP322 remote-mounted ADS-B transponder, and a full-featured AMX240 audio selector panel with 6-place voice-activated intercom and Bluetooth interface.
