e-publishing group has
announced the Fourth Annual COMM1 Aviation Scholarship Program for
the 2004-2005 flying season. These scholarships represent funding
to assist young aspiring aviators with the training required to
pursue a career in aviation and to help defray tuition and flight
training expenses. The Annual COMM1 Aviation Scholarship Program is
at the core of an ongoing series of efforts by the developers of
COMM1 Radio Simulators to raise awareness about the importance of
pilot communications proficiency at all levels of flight
training.
The total award for the 2004 COMM1 Aviation Scholarship will be
$2,000 and will be distributed in two (2) equal amounts of $1,000
each to two individual scholarship recipients. The recipients will
be selected from a pool of qualified applicants who have met the
published eligibility requirements available on COMM1 ’s
website at www.COMM1Radio.com
or by writing to e-publishing group. The application period begins
April 5, 2004 and closes on September 30, 2004. Scholarship awards
will be announced at AOPA Expo 2004 in Long Beach, CA on October
21, 2004.
In addition to demonstrating an interest in pursuing a career in
aviation, scholarship applicants will be asked to submit a brief
75-word statement describing an experience where radio
communications had a dramatically positive or negative impact on
the safety of a flight.
The COMM1
audio-interactive pilot communications training series was designed
to help pilots overcome “mic fright” and as a refresher
tool for maintaining radio proficiency. COMM1 is considered
“an integral part of any quality flight training
syllabus” by ground and flight instructors at the most
prestigious aviation universities, the US Navy and US Air Force,
and ab initio flight training facilities in throughout the US and
abroad.
Since 1998, more than 35,000 pilots and instructors have used
COMM1 interactive CD-ROM products for primary VFR and instrument
communications training. e-publishing group is proud to offer
qualified flight instructors a $20.00 CFI discount on COMM1 VFR,
IFR and the newest release, Clearances on Request (advanced IFR
departure clearance exercises).
