Owner Will Pick Up His Plane Next Week
At the 2006 Sun 'N Fun Fly-In last week, Symphony Aircraft
Industries announced the first BRS parachute installation in a
Symphony SA 160. The owner, Daly Craig, will pick up his aircraft
at the factory the week of April 10.
As Aero-News reported earlier this
year, Symphony received FAA certification in January
for the installation of the Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. (BRS),
whole-airplane parachute recovery system as a factory installed
option.
“Flying the Symphony is very fun," said Craig. "Its
maneuverability and visibility are great features, but I also want
my passengers to feel an extra level of safety when we fly. The BRS
parachute provides that added security."
Symphony representatives
told Aero-News Craig decided to purchase his plane also based in
part on the availability of the BRS 'chute.
"We want our customers to be safe and this light weight, fast
acting parachute system offers an exceptional degree of comfort and
safety. The BRS deployment handle has a unique safety latch that
keeps the handle in clear view and allows safe "quick thumb"
release by the pilot or the passenger.” said Paul Costanzo,
Symphony Aircraft, President and CEO. “This option is just
another example of the advanced technologies available in the
Symphony 160.”
“We at BRS find the Symphony Aircraft as one of the more
progressive manufacturers in the industry," said John Gilmore, Vice
President of Sales at BRS. "We are already shipping the second BRS
chute for installation in a Symphony SA 160 in as many months."
