Sisters Linked To Russia Airliner, Subway Bombings

Roza and Amnat (A/K/A Amanta) Nagayeva identified as suicide bombers in terrorist attacks

Russian law enforcements authorities have identified the suicide bomber who blew herself up on Tuesday near Moscow Metro's Rizhkaya subway station. Examination of remains of the body of the bomber have resulted in a positive identification of Roza Nagayeva, the sister of Amnat Nagayeva, a woman identified as one of the suicide bombers in the dual airliner bombings in August that killed 90 people.

Roza was identified using portions of her scalp remains, which showed scars from a brain operation she had in 2000 related to her epileptic condition. Even though DNA tests have not confirmed her identity, Russia's MosNews agency is reporting that police have stated that they know the remains belonged to Roza Nagayeva.

Amnat Nagayeva boarded one of the two flights that exploded and crashed last month, along with Satsita Dzhebirkhanova. Roza was mentioned in the news after the crashes, and soon after she blew herself up near the subway entrance, killing nine people. Another suspected suicide bomber, Maryam Taburova, is still at large. Police have identified her as having travelled to Moscow with the Nagayeva sisters and Dzhebirkhanova.
