EAA & Falcon Insurance Work Together

Here Comes Non-Owner Aircraft Insurance

By ANN Correspondent John Ballantyne

The Experimental Aircraft Association has joined with Falcon Insurance Agency and Global Aerospace to introduce a new Non-Owned Aircraft Insurance Plan. This EAA member program is broader and more inclusive than any other non-owned or renters insurance plan available to date.

In addition to Standard Category aircraft, the new EAA Non-Owned Aircraft Insurance plan offers insurance for aircraft in the Experimental Amateur-built category, as well as aircraft in the new Light-Sport Aircraft category, which was unveiled earlier this month by the FAA.  Both special and experimental light Sport Aircraft will be offered according to Bob Mackey of Falcon Insurance.

"When you are using somebody else's airplane, whether it is a rented aircraft, or a borrowed aircraft, you can pretty much be assured that you are not insured as an individual. That means you hang out there for the responsibility for the damage to the aircraft or injury to someone else," said Bob Mackey, Falcon Insurance Agency.

Coverage limits for liability for bodily injury and property damage can be up to one-million dollars with $100,000 per passenger.  Physical damage insurance from $1,000 to $100,000 plus expanded coverage of $10,000 medical payments for each person, $5,000 personal effects each passenger, $25,000 emergency expenses, and search and Rescue up to $25,000 each occurrence.
