Woman Struck By Prop In Tennessee

Victim In Critical Condition After Surgery

A woman in Lebanon, TN, is in critical condition after she apparently walked into a spinning propeller Friday night. The woman, whose name wasn't released by authorities, was severely injured on her right arm, side and pelvis.

She was flown by medical helicopter to Vanderbilt, where she underwent surgery on Saturday, according to authorities.

Witnesses told the Tennesseean the woman had just gotten out of the Cessna 172 (file photo of type, above) and was walking around the aircraft when she apparently strayed into the spinning blades. Police told the paper that the aircraft had been flown by her father and that two other people were on board at the time of the accident.
