...To Avionics Business Seminar
The Aircraft Electronics Association, in conjunction with the
U.S. Department of Commerce’s Special American Business
Internship Training (SABIT) Program, hosted a day-long avionics
technology commercialization seminar on Monday, which gathered AEA
repair station and manufacturers' representatives to discuss
business processes and prospects in the ever-emerging avionics
field. "The seminar was mutually beneficial in that it opened the
lines of communication to key Russian aviation business executives
and provided strategic contacts for their interests in the U.S.,"
stated Paula Derks, AEA's president.
Seeking more familiarization with all of the regulatory and
business principles that guide American aviation organizations, the
delegates had many questions for the seminar presenters.
Representatives from AEA members including FreeFlight Systems,
Furst Aircraft Inc., Midcoast Aviation, and Consolidated Instrument
Co., detailed their business processes and capabilities; then,
through interpreters, they fielded questions from the Russian
aviation executives. The delegates expressed great interest in the
products and services of the association and its members and will
look to the AEA to provide the regulatory and business operations
assistance to help expand interests in both foreign and domestic
markets.
The New England Air Museum, which houses an extensive exhibit on
the life and aircraft of Igor Sikorsky, provided the perfect
backdrop for the day's events. The avionics technology
commercialization seminar was midway through a four-week
orientation to U.S. aviation businesses where tours of Pratt &
Whitney, Sikorsky and Boeing are also scheduled for the
delegates.
