Georgia Flight School Abruptly Suspends Most Training

Falcon Aviation Academy Primarily Served Chinese Airlines

Falcon Aviation Academy has suspended most training at Newnan-Coweta County Airport (KCCO) southwest of Atlanta, GA.

The school primarily caters to pilot candidates from China, and the suspension appears to be connected with the Coronavirus outbreak, according to a report in the Newnan Times-Herald.

School administrators sent a message to Chinese students saying that "due to external factors beyond our control that have impacted the Chinese training operation and enforcement, Falcon Aviation Academy will be suspending your training from 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26." The message went on to say that the school was working with the various airlines to determine what would happen going forward.

The Chinese students were told to stay in their apartments until otherwise notified.

Due to the reduction in training, the school terminated several employees, according to the report. Employees were told in an email to gather their personal belongings and get an envelope with their name on it to determine what they were to do next.

The school also has locations at Peachtree City's Falcon Field and Athens-Ben Epps Airport. Both of those programs have also suspended operations, according to staff at both airports.
