New FTD will Join Fleet of Frasca Simulators.
Seneca College School of Aviation, located at the Peterborough Airport, Toronto, Canada, has contracted with simulator manufacturer Frasca International, to provide a new Baron G58 Level 5 Flight Training Device (FTD). The FTD will include Garmin G1000Nxi avionics, Frasca's Simplicity Instructor Operator Station (IOS), Frasca's TruVision visual system with 220° x 55° spherical enclosure and additional advanced features.
The School currently has eight Frasca flight simulators (including a CRJ, Cessna 172 and KingAir/Baron convertible FTDs) and will be adding the B58 (Baron) in the fall of 2018.
Frasca has worked closely with Seneca to provide a cockpit-specific Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) for each of the aircraft that Seneca Aviation students fly. These include two Frasca built B200 FSTDs that Seneca has in place, with one being used to train Seneca’s Royal Canadian Air Force Pilot Training Program students at the Newnham Campus.
"Seneca's School of Aviation has worked closely with Frasca for 36 years," stated Lynn McMullin, Director of Business Development, Seneca School of Aviation. "Advanced simulation training differentiates our programs and our graduates. The Air Taxi and Jet Transition programs prepare them for direct entry with our airlines partners."
Seneca's Honours Bachelor of Aviation Technology incorporates 131 hours of scheduled flight simulation training. Students have 24 hour access to the simulators for additional solo and mutual practice.
"We value the long term relationship with have with Seneca College. We strive to make each new simulator better than the last and collaborate with them to incorporate requested features that increase the training value of the simulator," stated John Frasca, President of Frasca International.
