MT-Propeller Says The New Prop Improves Takeoff, Climb, And Cruise Performance
The FAA has issued an STC to MT-Propeller Entwicklung for installation of its next generation 5-blade scimitar composite propeller on Cessna 425 aircraft powered by the P&WC PT6A-112 engines. The prop complies with strict German noise regulations for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.
The company says its high performance, light weight and durable propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.
In a news release, the company says the propeller installation provides vibration damping characteristics for "almost vibration free" propeller operations. It has bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for for superior erosion protection of the blades, and is estimated to provide a general performance improvement of 5% on take-off & climb and 3 kts cruise at 1900 rpm.
The prop also has no life limitation and has FOD repairable blades.
MT-Propeller manufactures 30 propeller models from 2-blade to 6-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 5000hp, and 2-blade to 4-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.
