Saudia Flight Delayed By Fight Between Pilot, FA

Reason For The Dustup Prior To Takeoff Unclear

Most of us have experienced a flight delay ... sitting in our seats at the gate while airline personnel work out one problem or another. But the passengers on recent a Saudia flight were forced to wait an additional six hours because a fight broke out between the pilot of the airplane and one of the flight attendants.

What caused the two men to get into the row is unclear, according to the Arab News, but it began with an argument that "soon turned violent," according to Col Mutaz Youssef of the Cairo airport police.

The incident occurred August 13 on a flight scheduled from Cairo to Medina, Saudi Arabia. The flight attendant injured his hand and was treated at the scene, while the pilot reportedly suffered an eye injury and had to be taken to a nearby hospital.

Then the waiting began, and it took six hours for a new crew to arrive in Cairo and get the flight and its passengers to their destination.
