A Remarkable Way To Remember Dad: With A Fly-In

Mike Williams Hosts Second Annual Event

(We got this from Mike Williams In Columbus, IN -- and thought we'd pass it on as a rather remarkable way for a guy to pay tribute to his dad. Worried that the term "pork loin" would be a little confusing to the uninitiate, Mike says you can certainly substitute the words "feeding frenzy." -- ed.)

To my flying friends,

I am hosting the second annual Mike's Hangar Spring Pork Loin Burn and Fly-in here at Mike's Hangar at the Columbus, Indiana (BAK) airport on April the 23 rd. This day commemorates my dad's passing on the April 23rd, 2003 and a few other important events. We will be flying the missing man for all gone west.

This is on a Saturday and it starts at 0600 for breakfast: pancakes, eggs and coffee. For lunch, it's gourmet pork loin sandwiches.

Airplane rides and "Concours d'Elegance" for the cleanest airplane (Remember, the judges can and should be bribed). Rain day is Sunday the 24th. Many pictures will be taken so plan on yours being published everywhere.

You can expect a gathering of Swift's, Tiger Moth's, Waco's, Pitts, RV's, and most other Antique and Classic aircraft. For overnighter's, camping is OK or a motel. Evening activates are planned. Aircraft parking is on the west end of the ramp. RSVP for food planning. The first year we fed 510 folks and hosted 83 airplanes.
