Embraer To Exhibit For First Time At Global Military Show

Will Display Legacy 600, Super Tucano At Royal Int'l Air Tattoo

Embraer tells ANN the Brazilian planemaker will participate for the first time in the Royal International Air Tattoo, July 11-13. RIAT is the world’s largest military air show.

More than 25 countries will attend RIAT 2008, held at Fairford Royal Air Force (RAF) base, in Gloucestershire, England, which marks the 90th anniversary of the RAF.

Embraer will present its defense market portfolio, which includes the Super Tucano turboprop used for advanced pilot training and operational missions, its Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) family, and aircraft for transporting government officials.

"We are proud to present Embraer’s top-quality military products and services at this prestigious event," said Luiz Carlos Aguiar, Embraer Executive Vice President, Defense and Government Market. "The Company’s logistical involvement in the RIAT 2008 shuttle flights provides an opportunity for air show guests to experience the comfort and performance of the proven Legacy 600 jet."

Embraer will also have a Legacy 600 business jet at RIAT 2008 to perform daily shuttle flights, transporting guests (VIPs and military officials) of the air show, between Northolt and Fairford (about a 20-minute flight). The Legacy 600 entered service in 2002, and is now used by government and military officials, as well as high networth individuals and business leaders.

More than 140 Legacy 600s have been delivered by Embraer to customers in 23 countries, worldwide.

Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is held annually in July at the Fairford Royal Air Force base, in Gloucestershire. It is the world’s largest military air show, and has gained a well-earned reputation as one of the UK’s top outdoor family events. The first Air Tattoo was held at North Weald airfield, in Essex, in 1971, with just over 100 aircraft taking part.
