GA Pilots Can Now Get CFI, MEI And Instrument Training
Flight Training Services
International (FTSI) has informed ANN it's introduced several new
training programs through its CAPT (Commercial Airline Pilot
Training) program. The new programs are aimed specifically at
helping general aviation pilots improve their skills.
"After designing a commercial airline pilot training program
built on 80 years of pilot training experience, we have decided to
create training programs specifically for the general aviation
industry" said Cary Green, Director of the CAPT program. "Improving
general aviation safety is very important to us, and these programs
are the first of several new courses the CAPT Program will offer
the general aviation community."
The CAPT program is now offering the following programs:
- CFI, CFII, MEI Courses
- Cirrus Owner & Operator Training Programs
- Upset Recovery Training Program (In cooperation with APS
Training)
- Instrument Proficiency Course
- Glass Cockpit Transition Course
- Structured Block Time Building Packages
FTSI has contracted with APS Emergency Maneuver Training to
conduct upset recovery training for its customers. The three-day,
five-mission course is billed as a rigorous combination of
hands-on, maneuver-based and scenario-based training profiles. The
course is said to both increase a student's fundamental flying
skills and aid the development of aeronautical decision making
skills amidst potentially life-threatening upset/emergency
conditions.
The structured block
time building packages allow customers to build time in either a
Diamond DA40 or Cirrus SR20 aircraft for a set price. Packages are
offered for 25, 50 and 100 hour blocks.
FTSI says each of its new GA flight training programs follows
its CAPT program's unique proprietary training curriculum. The
company claims its CAPT curriculum is designed to effectively teach
pilots how to safely operate complex and technologically advanced
aircraft in single-pilot environments.
