Four Companies Recognized With 2013 EBAA Safety Of Flight Awards

Cited For Focus On Maintaining And Improving Best Practices

Four European companies have been recognized for their commitment to safe operations as recipients of the 2013 European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) Safety of Flight Awards, presented today at the 13th Annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2013). The EBAA Safety of Flight Awards highlight the continued focus on maintaining and improving safety best practices at the companies' flight departments.

This year, two companies - Robert Bosch GmbH Corporate Aviation and Tyrol Air Ambulance GmbH - were honored with EBAA Platinum Safety of Flight Awards for achieving at least 50 years or 100,000 hours of safe flying. In addition, one company, Vistajet, received the EBAA Gold Safety of Flight honor for achieving 40 years or 80,000 hours without an accident. Also, FAI rent-a-jet AG, received the Bronze Safety of Flight Award for achieving at least 20 years or 40,000 hours without an accident.

“I believe it's also important that, during each year’s EBACE event, we not only work to enhance our approach to business aviation safety, but also take a moment to recognize companies with a long-standing commitment to safety, as shown in their decades-long records for safe light," noted EBAA President Brian Humphries. "That’s why EBAA created these awards, and we’re delighted to recognize these outstanding companies with an award today.”

The awards were presented in conjunction with the 2013 European Business Aviation Safety Workshop, a traditional component of EBACE that challenges common perceptions about industry safety and best practices, while emphasizing human factors in addressing critical safety information and training issues specific to the European region.

“We know that the business aviation community has an outstanding safety record, in the U.S. and around the world. But it’s a record we’re always looking for ways to build upon, and today’s session was one meaningful way to do so,” NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen said of the Safety Workshop.
