Iron Maiden Frontman Bruce Dickinson In The Jet Sales Business

Chairman Of Aeris Aviation Is Offering Special-Edition Jets Through Tony Department Store

Bruce Dickinson is a man of diverse interests, and he has the means to indulge them.

Dickinson (pictured in file photo) is probably best known to the public as the lead singer of the heavy metal band Iron Maiden. But the 57-year-old rock star is also a businessman, and one of his passions is aviation. He is the chairman of Aeris Aviation, which describes itself as a flight club "offering luxury aircraft at an affordable price". And this month, he has teamed up with the luxury department store Harrods to sell special edition Eclipse 550 private jets.

The sale, which is described in the U.K. media as a "pop-up shop," is offering the Eclipse 550s. The U.K. newspaper The Standard reports that, according to director of Harrods media Guy Cheston, the store has "always prided itself on offering the most exclusive and unique products and the Aeris Eclipse 550 personal jet is certainly one to excite our discerning clientele."

The plane will be customized with Harrods branding. And if you buy one, you also get a $50,000 store card.

Dickinson earned his commercial rating in Florida, and flew the Iron Maiden 757 business jet during the band's 2008-2009 tour. He reportedly bought a Boeing 737 in June.
