PAMA Announces 2004 Award Winners

Each year the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) recognizes individuals, chapters, and organizations that significantly improve the association and the aviation maintenance industry.  Winners will be honored at PAMA’s Annual Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, May 18, at 11:30 AM at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The luncheon is the kick off event for the PAMA 2004 Symposium. Here are this year's winners:

Awards of Excellence
  • Paul B. Jones, Safety Program Manager, FAA-Flight Standards
  • Thomas E. Hendershot. Director, AMT Awards Program, Frontier Airlines, Inc.
PAMA/Flight Safety Foundation Joe Chase Award
  • John Goglia, Board Member, National Transportation Safety Board
Member Service Award
  • Rex Niver, Instructor, Tulsa Technology Center
Chapter of the Year Award
  • Teterboro Chapter of PAMA
Awards of Merit
  • Mary Ann Eiff, Maintenance Instructor, American TransAir
  • Jorge Chipollini, A&P Mechanic, Sam's Aircraft Service, Inc.
  • Gary Stephen Goodpaster, Aviation Maintenance Technician of the Year, Director of Maintenance, The Kroger Co.
  • Keith Bryon Lewis, Avionics Tech of the Year
Award of Special Merit
  • Raytheon Aircraft Repair Station – Wichita, Kansas
Company Appreciation Award
  • Cosgrove Aircraft Service, Inc.
PAMA/Aircraft Technical Publishers Award
  • Howard Siedlecki, President, Sunshine Aircraft Repair, Inc.
Other awards being presented at the luncheon include:
  • Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance – Richard C. Wellman Award
  • FlightSafety International's 2004 Award for Excellence in Maintenance Training
  • Jim Janaitis, Director of Maintenance for IBM
  • Professional Pilot’s PRASE Survey Best Maintenance Centers

PAMA President Brian Finnegan says, "PAMA's 33rd Annual Symposium's theme is 'Elevating Maintenance Professionals to New Heights' and we believe that these individuals and companies do just that.  We are proud of their achievements and look forward to recognizing them."

The luncheon will also feature Ellen Engleman Connors, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, as keynote speaker.  Gulfstream is the title sponsor of the event.
