UAV Lands On Roof Of Japanese PM's Office Building

Origin Of The Aircraft Still Unknown

A 20-inch UAV was discovered Wednesday on the roof of the office building where Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe normally works.

Japan Today reports that the aircraft appeared to have been flown to the location, according to local media reports. Authorities swarmed to the roof of the five-story tall building and covered the aircraft with a blue tarp. Police said they found a camera, a plastic bottle, and what appears to be a flare with the UAV. It tested positive for "miniscule" amounts of radiation, according to reports.

The aircraft was discovered mid-morning. It was not known who might have flown the aircraft to the top of the building, or if that flight was intentional or accidental.

Japan Today reports that Abe is currently in Indonesia, and was not in his office when the incident occurred.
